ABOUT ME
In my native Switzerland, I graduated with a business degree and worked in banking and at the Swiss Exchange for several years before moving to Boston. Soon after this move, I transitioned into what has always been my true passion: the helping professions and psychology. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts and with a Masters in Social Work from Simmons School of Social Work.
Safety & Support Treatment Services is a Private Practice built on a foundation of over 20 years experience treating and supporting individuals in the community and within the prison system.
Safety & Support not only refers to the physical and emotional space in which therapy and change happens, but also to public safety, which is being addressed by providing support to those who need it.
EXPERIENCE
My professional experience includes managing a program which provides treatment and supervision to justice-involved individuals, and reentry services to returning citizens. I have also managed a group home for adult men with behavioral difficulties and forensic involvement. I also have many years experience providing group, individual, and couples therapy within the prison system and in the community and utilizing assessment tools to assess offenders’ risk levels for recidivism.
I have been involved in Probate and Family Court work, conducting supervised visits between children and their non-custodial parent and guardian ad litem investigations, as well as working with high-conflict divorced couples on improving their co-parenting relationships.
I have taught Masters-level courses in group therapy at Bridgewater State University and have many years of experience supervising and mentoring students and mental health professionals.
All of these invaluable experiences have led me to my Private Practice, where I use my knowledge and skills to help individuals who are looking for a safe, supportive and judgment-free space to process their personal experience and find their authentic voice.
My Practice is centered on the principle that every person deserves to feel safe and supported through unconditional positive regard, while also being held accountable for their behavioral choices. In my work, I utilize different treatment approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Theory, Humanistic, Person-Centered, Solution Focused and Positive Psychology among others. I work to empower my clients to develop acceptance of themselves, others and reality. I also utilize various contacts in the community to make referrals and seek additional support for my clients when necessary.

Criminality

Spirit (a therapist’s poem)
With a smile
that conveys a willing light,
you guide us on a path
to make our lives better.
With a kindness and strength
that builds up our hope,
you challenge our thoughts and fears
as we learn to cope.
With a dedication to take time
to listen and learn what we say,
your concern is apparent
as we struggle each day.
With a joy and reassurance
that shows on your face,
you've bettered our lives
with your spirit and grace.
